Finding images of pieces I restored in the past.

I came across these photos of a piece I restored back in 2005. I can still remember restoring it.

Wing-backed Chair recycled fabric.

Sometimes I have clients come to me with requests to upholster their piece with re-purposed cloth items. Sometimes they request this to save money and other times the fabric item may have some sentimental value. Here is a wing-backed chair recovered with a heavy linen print that was original drapery. The black fabric she just had laying around. I added the red cording to give highlight. There were many comments from other customers when they entered my shop.

A Mustard Yellow Leather Sofa

A client came to me with some some nice leather hides that had been neglected and stained. She wanted me to recover her sofa and to redesign it with a more sleek and modern feel. I reshaped and built up the inside back with down soft foam foregoing the bulkiness of the semi-attached cushions. Working around the stained leather was a challenge.

A simple and sleek piece.

Lined Pouch - for small stuff.

It could be a make-up bag, a bag to hold sewing stuff, a toiletry bag, etc. I use one to hold the loupes and other tools I use to magnify lichen and another to collect lichen specimens.

The linen fabric is covered with a clear vinyl on the outside and inside to protect from stains.

Tabitha Bag created with re-purposed wool jackets

This is my first attempt at creating this "Tabitha Bag" using a pattern purchased from Flossie Teacakes. The piece turned out okay, however, I used very heavy wool cloth that made some of the detail work difficult. However, now that I've worked through the first creation, I will adapt the pattern to accommodate the more bulky re-purposed fabrics I usually use.

This bag was made from two wool jackets purchased at a local resale shop.

Re-purposed patchwork jacket tote.

This tote was made from a patchwork jacket purchased from a re-sale shop. The lining is auto interior fabric scraps from an auto upholstery project. The straps and pockets are old denim jeans fabric.

Frilly little tote bag.

This little tote was once a cute little waist jacket with many accessories already on it. It was fun to re-fashion.

Lunch Tote - Re-purposed Materials

Lunch Tote from Re-purposed Materials
Sold: $35.00

The print fabric for the main body of the tote is from a table cloth purchased at a re-sale shop.

The straps were made from old black denim jeans purchased from a re-sale shop.

The zippered-top is crafted from pieces from a wool army blanket. The Wool blankets were used to create bucket seat covers for an upholstery client.

The inside is lined with a heavy muslin fabric with a vinyl covering. The outside fabric was also cover with vinyl. The vinyl and the muslin were scrap pieces from previous upholstery projects. The vinyl protects the fabrics from food and spills.

The zipper pull was salvaged from a re-sale shop.
